MAJORITY OF FILIPINOS WANT LEGAL ACTION IN FLOOD CONTROL SCANDAL

A recent survey shows that five out of ten Filipino voters want clear legal action against government officials involved in the flood control scandal.

The Pahayag End of the Year (PEOY-2025) survey found that 54 percent of respondents are calling for investigations into those allegedly involved in anomalous flood control projects.

About 53 percent want the 15 members of the House of Representatives and other officials linked to the irregularities to face charges, while 51 percent are seeking accountability for those behind 421 “ghost projects.”

Meanwhile, 26 percent of respondents called for the resignation of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., and 20 percent want both Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte to step down.

The survey was conducted from December 7 to 10 with a total of 1,500 voters participating.
