SURVEY NAMES CO, ROMUALDEZ AS TOP SUSPECTS IN ALLEGED GOV’T CORRUPTION

Former Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co and former House Speaker and Leyte 1st District Representative Martin Romualdez are viewed by many Filipinos as the main figures behind alleged government corruption and budget insertions, according to the latest survey.

The Pahayag End of the Year (PEOY-2025) survey showed that 74 percent of respondents pointed to Co as most involved in corruption, followed by Romualdez at 66 percent.

The survey also indicated that 50 percent of respondents believe President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. was involved in alleged misuse of public funds, while his son, House Deputy Speaker and Ilocos Norte 1st District Representative Sandro Marcos, was cited by 47 percent.

The survey was conducted from December 7 to 10 with 1,500 registered voters participating.
