Everything is set for the opening of the eight official entries of the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), which officially kicks off in cinemas on December 25.
SM Cinema announced on December 23 that its theaters will open as early as 9 a.m. on Christmas Day to accommodate moviegoers.
Advance ticket selling has also begun across the country’s three major cinema chains—SM Cinemas, Robinsons Movieworld, and Ayala Malls—for the 2025 MMFF entries.
Starting December 25, audiences can watch the following MMFF films in cinemas nationwide:
- Bar Boys After School (901 Studios), starring Carlo Aquino, Kean Cipriano, Rocco Nacino, Enzo Pineda, Will Ashley, and Odette Khan, directed by Kip Oebanda.
- Call Me Mother (Star Cinema, The IdeaFirst Company, VIVA Films), starring Vice Ganda, Nadine Lustre, and Lucas Andalio, directed by Jun Robles Lana.
- I’mPerfect (Nathan Studios), starring Earl Amaba and Krystel Go, directed by Sigrid Andrea Bernardo.
- Love You So Bad (Star Cinema, GMA Pictures, Regal Entertainment), starring Dustin Yu, Bianca de Vera, and Will Ashley, directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar.
- Manila’s Finest (MQuest Ventures, Cignal Entertainment, Spring Films), starring Piolo Pascual, Enrique Gil, Rica Peralejo, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, and Ashtine Olviga, directed by Raymond Red.
- UnMarry (Quantum Films), starring Angelica Panganiban and Zanjoe Marudo, directed by Jeffrey Jeturian.
- Rekonek (Reality MM Studios), starring the Legaspi family with Bela Padilla, Gerald Anderson, Charlie Dizon, Gloria Diaz, and Andrea Brillantes, directed by Jade Castro.
- Shake, Rattle and Roll: Evil Origins (Regal Entertainment), featuring an ensemble cast led by Carla Abellana and Richard Gutierrez, directed by Shugo Praico, Joey de Guzman, and Ian Loreños.
The 2025 MMFF will run in theaters from December 25 until January 7, 2026.
