Nearly seven out of 10 Filipinos expect a merry Christmas this year, according to a non-commissioned survey by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) released on Wednesday, December 24.
The survey, conducted from November 24 to 30, found that 68 percent of Filipinos are looking forward to a happy Christmas – slightly higher than last year’s 65 percent.
Those expecting a joyful holiday were highest in Mindanao at 76 percent, followed by the Visayas at 73 percent, while Metro Manila and Balance Luzon recorded 64 percent.
Seven percent of respondents said they may experience a “sad” Christmas, three percent lower than the 10 percent reported in 2024.
The poll also showed that Filipinos are most grateful for good health, family, and simply being alive this holiday season.
SWS said 1,200 people participated in the survey with a ±3 percent margin of error.
