TINIO: DROP IN MARCOS RATING SHOWS PUBLIC DISCONTENT

ACT Teachers Partylist Representative Antonio Tinio reacted to the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showing a decline in President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s net trust rating, while Vice President Sara Duterte’s rating rose.

In a televised interview, Tinio said the drop reflects growing public dissatisfaction with the administration’s handling of the flood control scandal. He also noted that the promised accountability has yet to materialize.

“As far as the President’s rating, maybe the President was hoping that by casting himself as the protagonist in the flood control scandal, he would receive a significant bump in his approval ratings yet we see the opposite,” Tinio said.

“So I guess, that’s a clear signal that the public is not impressed with the President’s performance in this anti-corruption campaign. She (Duterte) has been sidelined. She’s been on the sidelines. The issues, the anomalies related to or connected with her have been set aside namely confidential fund, the impeachment complaint,” he added.

Tinio suggested that Duterte’s absence from the spotlight may have contributed to her improved public perception.
