MARCOS TO WELCOME NEW YEAR IN MALACAÑANG

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. will usher in the New Year inside Malacañang, focusing on the 2026 national budget rather than travel plans.

Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro confirmed the President will remain in the Palace as the administration conducts a detailed review of the spending bill.

“Ang Pangulo ay narito lamang at walang pagbibiyahe na magaganap,” Castro said.

Despite the workload, Marcos will mark the holiday with his family in a low-key celebration.

“Kasama niyang sasalubungin ang Bagong Taon ang kanyang pamilya at mga mahal sa buhay,” Castro added.

The Palace earlier emphasized that the budget review aims to ensure fiscal discipline and proper use of public funds before the measure is signed into law.
