The Office of the Ombudsman will release the contents of former Public Works Undersecretary Catalina Cabral’s phone to ensure transparency, Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said.
“The Ombudsman ay mayroong skilled na mga tauhan para po diyan, para malaman sa pamamagitan ng forensic examination, para malaman kung ano ‘yung nilalaman niyan,” Castro explained, noting that the disclosure will follow a forensic examination of Cabral’s phone.
Castro added that the Ombudsman is taking appropriate steps as part of its ongoing investigation into the flood control scam involving several DPWH officials, lawmakers, and private contractors.
Cabral’s phone and other gadgets were immediately retrieved by her family after her body was found along a riverbank in Tuba, Benguet on December 19.
