A University of the Philippines (UP) graduate emerged as the topnotcher among 11,420 examinees of the 2025 Bar Examinations, while the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Manila claimed the most spots in the Top 10, the Supreme Court announced Wednesday.
Jhenroniel Rhey Timola Sanchez of UP earned the highest score of 92.70%. UP also placed two others in the Top 10: Marie Shantelle Atienza Sarmiento (8th, 90.87%) and Jusmin Teriann Afable Yap (10th, 90.36%).
UST Manila had four Top 10 passers: Spinel Albert Allauigan Declaro (2nd, 92.46%), Alaiza Agatep Adviento (3rd, 91.91%), Marc Angelo Galvez Santos (5th, 91.58%), and Johan Raphael Silapan Gata (7th, 90.90%).
Other universities represented in the Top 10 include De La Salle-Lipa and University of San Jose-Recoletos, with Ateneo de Manila posting the best passing rate (98.11%) among schools with more than 100 examinees.
A total of 5,594 examinees passed the 2025 Bar Exams. Six UP graduates placed in the Top 20, maintaining the State University’s streak of producing topnotchers, following Kyle Christian Tutor in 2024.
