Finance Secretary Frederick Go officially became a member of the Monetary Board of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) after taking his oath on January 8.
The swearing-in ceremony was led by BSP Governor Eli Remolona Jr. at the central bank’s headquarters in Manila.
Go was appointed by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to join the BSP’s policy-making body, replacing Ralph Recto, who now serves as the President’s Executive Secretary.
The Monetary Board is composed of seven members responsible for the country’s monetary policy and the regulation of the financial system.
Other members include former BSP Governor Benjamin Diokno, Romeo Bernardo, Walter Wassmer, Rosalia De Leon, and Jose Querubin.
