Authorities seized several luxury vehicles allegedly owned by former Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co during a joint operation on Thursday night in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig.
Personnel from the Bureau of Customs (BOC), working with police units, recovered the vehicles from a condominium parking area.
Criminal Investigation and Detection Group–NCR chief PCol. John Guiagui on a radio interview said that nine vehicles were covered by the search warrant, but only eight were found at the BGC location.
No documents or personal belongings were found inside the vehicles. The seized units include a Rolls-Royce, Cadillac Escalade, Lexus, and Toyota Sequoia.
Authorities said the vehicles are registered under different names, including Sunwest, La Venizia Hotel, Misibis Resort and Hotel, while some are reportedly registered under the name of Co’s wife.
The CIDG-NCR will look into the vehicles’ connection to the condominium where they were parked.
Following the operation, conducted with the BOC, the Philippine Highway Patrol Group, and the Southern Police District, the confiscated vehicles will be turned over to the ICI.
