President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Friday inspected the ongoing reconstruction of a school building at San Francisco High School in Quezon City that was destroyed by fire in June last year.
During the visit, Marcos assured teachers and students that the new facility will be completed by June, in time for the opening of the next school year.

He said the project will include a 36-classroom school building, with additional support from SM Foundation Inc., led by the Sy family.
“Ang itatayo natin na bagong school building dito… magiging 36 classrooms at napag-usapan natin ang SM na magtayo din ng 24 classrooms,” the President said.
“Ang schedule nito, matatapos ito by the beginning of the next school year, sa June, puwede nang gamitin ito,” he added.
The President said SM Foundation Inc., run by the children of the late business tycoon Henry Sy, will construct an additional 24 classrooms to help address the school’s growing needs.
San Francisco High School currently serves 6,846 students with the support of 325 teaching and non-teaching personnel and has 211 classrooms.
Earlier, Education Secretary Sonny Angara said the Department of Public Works and Highways recommended demolishing the damaged structure and building a new one instead.
Marcos also checked the medical caravan conducted by the Department of Education and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation on the school campus.
