MORE THAN 9.6-M JOIN 31-HOUR TRASLACION

A total of 9,640,290 devotees took part in the Feast of Jesus Nazareno, which culminated in a Traslacion that lasted nearly 31 hours, the Quiapo Church said.

“Meron tayo sa Quirino Grandstand. Yung mga um-attend ng Misa. Then meron tayong nine-day Novena Masses at ‘yung Misa Mayor, cinonsider natin doon. So all in all, we arrive at 9.6 [million], and so far, this is the biggest number of devotees who participated in our activities,” Nazareno 2026 spokesperson Father Robert Arellano said at a press conference.

The procession began at the Quirino Grandstand at 4 a.m. on Friday and ended when the image entered the Quiapo Church gates at around 10:50 a.m. Saturday, lasting 30 hours and 50 minutes.

This surpassed the 2025 Traslacion, which ran for 20 hours and 45 minutes and drew an estimated 8.1 million devotees.

Church officials said the procession slowed significantly as large crowds converged near the andas, particularly along the stretch from Finance Road through Ayala Boulevard and Ayala Bridge, which took more than six hours to complete.

The Quiapo Church reported 1,057 medical cases during the Traslacion.

Meanwhile, the National Capital Region Police Office confirmed at least two deaths among devotees, noting that the tally does not include the photojournalist who died while covering the event.
