PALACE OPTIMISTIC ON PUNISHMENT OF GUILTY OFFICIALS

Malacañang remains optimistic that most Filipinos still believe guilty officials in the flood control scandal will be held accountable, despite a recent Pulse Asia survey showing a decline in confidence.

The survey, conducted from December 12 to 15 with 1,200 adult respondents, found that 59% expect officials involved in the flood control mess to face consequences, down from 71% in September 2025.

Meanwhile, 48% expressed distrust in President Marcos’ handling of the anomalies, 30% expressed trust, and 22% were undecided.

Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro highlighted that the results still reflect public confidence in the President’s capability.

“So majority pa rin po ang naniniwala sa kakayanan ng Pangulo,” Castro said.

“So ito po ay positibo dahil alam nila na ang dapat managot ay maaaring mabilanggo,” she added.

Castro also emphasized Marcos’ proactive stance against corruption.
