Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo “Ping” Lacson on Wednesday, January 14, challenged Senator Imee Marcos to present evidence directly linking her cousin, former House Speaker Martin Romualdez, to alleged anomalies in the flood control projects.
During the Kapihan Sa Senado media briefing, Lacson said he is willing to give Marcos one hour to present all the information she has.
Lacson criticized Marcos for making allegations without attending hearings and noted that there are no restrictions preventing her from participating in the Blue Ribbon Committee’s investigations.
“This is what I’m advising Senator Imee Marcos. Noise does not convict neither does it indict even who may be perceived as the most guilty in the FCP or Flood Control Project saga. Only evidence does,” he said.
Walang pipigil sa kanya at walang nagbabawal sa sasabihin niya o gagawin niya,” Lacson added, emphasizing that participation and evidence are key.
