UKG STUDIO POSTS SPARK COMEBACK TALK

Speculation is growing among Kapamilya fans after several ABS-CBN news personalities recently posed for photos at the former studio of the defunct morning show Umagang Kay Ganda (UKG).

This followed posts by Jonathan Magistrado, ABS-CBN News Chief of Reporters Jeff Canoy, It’s Showtime host Amy Perez, and Johnson Manabat, who all shared images taken outside the UKG studio.

Observers believe the move may be a hint of the program’s possible return.

The show first aired in 2007 and was last seen on May 5, 2020, after the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) ordered ABS-CBN to cease its free TV and radio operations following the expiration of its franchise.

Since then, the network has not had a morning program, largely due to the impact of losing its broadcast license.

As of now, ABS-CBN News has not confirmed whether Umagang Kay Ganda will indeed return to the airwaves.
