TV5 and MediaQuest Holdings Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan has confirmed that he is now “hands-on” when it comes to the programming of the Kapatid Network, following speculation about an emergency meeting within the company.
In an interview with Kapatid entertainment journalist MJ Marfori, Pangilinan admitted he has been deeply involved in shaping the lineup of shows for the network.
“Marami, marami. We’ve been meeting so many times in the past 2 weeks or so,” Pangilinan said, emphasizing his active role in discussions and planning.
He also addressed the decision to re-air the dramas Nag-aapoy na Damdamin and Pira-Pirasong Paraiso, both co-production ventures between TV5 and ABS-CBN Studios that previously occupied the primetime block.
“This industry is so small to be overly competitive,” Pangilinan remarked, highlighting the collaborative nature of Philippine television despite past challenges.
The partnership between ABS-CBN and TV5 ended at the start of 2026 due to alleged payment issues, though the matter was later resolved.
Meanwhile, TV5 is preparing to launch a slate of new programs for its viewers, including The Kingdom: Magkabilang Mundo, A Secret in Prague, The Good Doctor The Philippine Adaptation, My Bespren Emman, Magic Boys, Project Loki, and the free TV airing of Ang Mutya ng Section E: The Dark Side.
