MVP REGRETFUL OVER ABS-CBN–TV5 DEAL END

TV5 and MediaQuest Holdings Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan has formally spoken about the conclusion of the content supply agreement between TV5 Network, Inc. and ABS-CBN Corporation, describing the end of the partnership as unfortunate but final.

In an interview with entertainment news website Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), Pangilinan admitted that he felt regret over how the collaboration ended.

“Wala na, tapos na yon. It’s regretful, but it is what it is, right?” Pangilinan said.

Despite the termination of the deal, Pangilinan emphasized that TV5 remains open to working with content providers and blocktimers, including ABS-CBN—and even its rival networks, should opportunities arise.

“TV5 got to work with content houses, which ABS is one of them, and [it’s] a major content house,” Pangilinan said.

He further stressed MediaQuest’s openness to collaboration across the industry.

“We’re prepared to continue working with them as a content provider and with the other content houses, including possibly even GMA. We could work together in some of the content.”

The content supply agreement between ABS-CBN and TV5 officially ended on the first day of 2026, reportedly due to ABS-CBN’s failure to settle its financial obligations to TV5—an issue that was later resolved.

Despite the split, collaboration between the two networks continues to be visible on air. Currently, “Nag-aapoy na Damdamin” and “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso,” both 2023 co-productions of ABS-CBN Studios and TV5, have returned to the Kapatid Network’s primetime lineup.

Pangilinan’s statements signal that while the previous agreement has concluded, MediaQuest and TV5 remain open to future partnerships—highlighting a pragmatic approach amid the evolving and highly competitive Philippine television landscape.
