The shear line and the northeast monsoon or amihan will continue to bring rains to several parts of the Philippines, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported Sunday, January 25.
In its 4 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said the shear line will trigger heavy rains over Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Davao Oriental, and Davao de Oro.

SOCCSKSARGEN, Eastern Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, and Bukidnon are expected to experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the same weather system.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides in these areas as a result of moderate to “at times heavy rains.”
Meanwhile, Cagayan Valley, the Bicol Region, the rest of Visayas, the rest of Northern Mindanao, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, and Quezon will have cooler weather with cloudy skies and light rains brought by amihan.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rains, also due to the northeast monsoon.
The weather bureau is monitoring a low pressure area (LPA), formerly Ada, inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). PAGASA said the LPA, located 765 kilometers east of General Santos City, South Cotabato, is “unlikely” to redevelop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
The eastern section of Mindanao will experience strong to gale northeast to north winds with rough to very rough seas, while the rest of the archipelago will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters.
PAGASA advised residents in affected areas to remain alert for possible flooding and landslides as weather disturbances continue to impact the country.
