TWO WEATHER SYSTEMS BRING RAIN ACROSS PH

Several parts of the country are expected to experience rain showers on Friday due to the combined effects of the shear line and the northeast monsoon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA said the shear line affecting eastern Mindanao will trigger scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over CARAGA, Eastern Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte, and Davao Oriental, with moderate to heavy rainfall possibly causing flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or “amihan” will bring light rains to Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, and Aurora.

The rest of Mindanao and Eastern Visayas may experience isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms, while other parts of the country will see isolated light rains brought by “amihan.”

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters are forecast over Northern and Central Luzon, as well as the eastern sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Elsewhere, winds will remain light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.

PAGASA added that no low pressure area is currently being monitored for possible tropical cyclone development.
