SHEAR LINE TO BRING RAINS OVER LARGE PARTS OF PH

The shear line is expected to bring scattered rains across wide portions of the country, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Saturday.

In its 4 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms will prevail over the Visayas, Romblon, Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Camiguin, and Misamis Oriental.

The weather bureau warned of possible flash floods or landslides in these areas due to moderate to heavy rainfall.

The rest of Mindanao is forecast to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

PAGASA also said moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will affect the northern and eastern sections of Luzon and the Visayas, as well as the eastern section of Mindanao.

Elsewhere in the country, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.
