PALACE: ANTI-CORRUPTION DRIVE KEY TO INVESTOR CONFIDENCE

Malacañang said investors are closely monitoring the government’s intensified campaign against corruption, particularly involving flood control projects, as this is seen as crucial to rebuilding trust in the Philippine business environment.

Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the administration is firm in addressing corruption and the misuse of public funds, noting that several suspects linked to alleged irregularities in flood control projects have already been arrested and detained.

Castro stressed, however, that investors are keenly observing how far the government will go in holding those involved accountable.

Asked whether other agencies aside from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) are under scrutiny, Castro said no specific offices were identified but emphasized that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. expects all government agencies to uphold integrity.

The Palace reiterated that the administration’s anti-corruption push is aimed not only at reassuring investors but also at strengthening public trust in government.
