GMA, ABS-CBN LOCK IN TIGHT PRIMETIME RATINGS RACE

The primetime ratings battle between GMA Network and ABS-CBN remains intense, based on the latest data from Nielsen Philippines’ National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM), with TV5 trailing behind the two broadcast giants.

Figures from Thursday, January 29, show sustained competition between GMA-7 and ABS-CBN across key primetime time slots, while the Kapatid Network continues to lag in overall performance.

At the 6:30 p.m. slot, GMA’s flagship newscast “24 Oras” dominated with a 13.2% rating on GMA-7 and GTV. ABS-CBN’s “TV Patrol” placed second with 5.0%, airing on Kapamilya Channel via ALLTV2, cable, and A2Z. TV5’s “Frontline Pilipinas” trailed with 1.9%.

The 8:00 p.m. slot went to ABS-CBN’s “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” which registered 9.0%, edging out GMA’s fantasy series “Sang’gre” at 8.2%. TV5’s “Totoy Bato” posted a modest 0.9%.

GMA reclaimed the lead at 8:45 p.m. as “Sanggang Dikit FR” scored 7.5%, surpassing ABS-CBN’s “Roja” at 4.7%. TV5 aired a rerun of “Nag-aapoy na Damdamin,” which earned 0.6%.

On GTV, delayed telecasts of “Sang’gre” and “Sanggang Dikit FR” recorded 2.0% and 0.8%, respectively.

The ABS-CBN-GMA collaboration “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab 2.0” performed strongly with a 5.0% rating, ahead of ABS-CBN’s “What Lies Beneath” at 2.1% and TV5’s rerun of “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso” at 0.4%.

In late-night programming, GMA’s “Saksi” led with 2.2%, followed by ABS-CBN’s K-drama “Go Ahead” at 1.0%, while TV5’s “Frontline Tonight” registered 0.2%.

With all three major networks preparing to roll out new programs, the primetime competition among GMA, ABS-CBN, and TV5 is expected to intensify further in the coming weeks.
