Malacañang expressed confidence that the impeachment complaint filed against President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. will not succeed, as the House Committee on Justice begins deliberations on Monday, February 2.
Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the President is focused on his work, knowing he has committed no impeachable offense.
“Hindi worried ang Pangulo dahil sa reason on the basis na alam ng Pangulo na wala siyang ginawang mali,” Castro said.
She noted that legal luminaries, experts, and constitutionalists have already pointed out the weakness of the allegations raised in the complaint.
Castro added that the accusations are based on speculation and emphasized that lawmakers will carefully study the matter in the interest of the nation, not personal gain.
The Palace reiterated that Marcos remains focused on governance rather than political noise surrounding the impeachment process.
