FIRST LADY, CHINESE AMBASSADOR MEET AT LANG LANG CONCERT

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and Chinese Ambassador to Manila Jing Quan were seen together during the concert of world-renowned Chinese pianist Lang Lang in Manila.

Photos shared separately by the First Lady and the Chinese Embassy Manila showed the two smiling during the event, which highlighted an evening of classical music and cultural exchange.

“What a treat to see Lang Lang live in Manila. A beautiful evening of music, mastery and shared moments with so many who came simply to listen and feel his magic,” said FL Liza alongside images from the event.

The Chinese Embassy Manila also acknowledged the encounter in a brief post.

“Pleasant talk with First Lady,” the Chinese Embassy Manila added.

The meeting came amid heightened tensions between the Chinese embassy and several Philippine government officials, who have recently exchanged statements on social media.

Calls have also emerged urging the government to declare Ambassador Jing and other embassy officials persona non grata.

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., however, earlier dismissed the calls, with Malacañang saying such a move would be considered only as a “last resort.”
