The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) reported revenues of ₱9.33 billion in 2025, surpassing its original collection goal, the agency announced on Sunday.
In a statement, the NTC said last year’s collections were ₱2.709 billion higher—about 41% above its ₱6.622-billion target.
Commissioner Ella Blanca Lopez credited the strong performance to tighter regulatory compliance across the sector.
She said the gains were driven by stricter enforcement, improved collection efficiency, and sustained growth in the telecommunications industry.
“By… improving collection efficiency, the NTC supports the administration’s efforts to ensure sound public finance, effective regulation, and the delivery of programs that advance digital connectivity, consumer protection, and inclusive national development,” Lopez said.
The commission noted that all revenues are remitted directly to the Bureau of the Treasury to support government initiatives, including the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s free Wi-Fi program.
The NTC regulates cable and commercial television operators, broadcast radio stations, telecommunications firms, radio operators, internet service providers, and other communications entities.
