INTERPOL SEEKS MORE DOCS VS ZALDY CO

The International Police Organization (Interpol) has requested additional documents from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in connection with its application for a red notice against former Ako Bicol Party-list Representative Zaldy Co.

NBI Spokesperson Palmer Mallari said Interpol is seeking supplemental information and has given the agency until February 11 to submit the required documents before it decides on the request.

“There was a letter sent to the NBI by the Philippine Center for Transnational Crimes. Apparently, may natanggap po silang letter from the Interpol,” Mallari said.

“Meron pong hinihingi na supplemental information ang Interpol and we are given up to February 11 to submit this para makapag-decide sila do’n sa request,” he added.

Mallari stressed that the request is part of the normal process and indicates that Interpol is carefully evaluating the application.

“Hopefully after we submit on February 11, maaksyonan na po agad ito,” he noted.

The NBI filed the application for a red notice against Co on November 23, 2025. Co is among those ordered arrested by the Sandiganbayan in connection with allegedly anomalous flood control projects.
