Key members of the traditional opposition reunited for the first time in years, bringing together former Vice President and now Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo, Senators Kiko Pangilinan, Risa Hontiveros, Bam Aquino, and other prominent figures.
Robredo described the meeting on Facebook as a “rare lunch” with her 2022 presidential campaign supporters.
“Rare lunch out with people I have fought many fights with. First time since 2022 that we are all together,” she wrote.
Photos from the gathering showed leading Liberal Party (LP) personalities and allies, including former Senate President Franklin Drilon, Akbayan Party-list Representative Chel Diokno, Mamamayang Liberal Party-list Representative Leila de Lima, and former Budget Secretary Butch Abad.
Diokno, Hontiveros, and de Lima were part of the opposition slate during the 2022 national elections, when Robredo ran for president with Pangilinan as her running mate. Aquino served as her campaign manager, while Drilon and Abad are longtime LP officials.
