Malacañang on Monday dismissed social media calls for accountability, including suggestions of resignation, against Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco and Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa, stressing that both officials continue to enjoy the full trust of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said there are no internal discussions regarding the criticisms circulating online, describing them as mere speculation.
“Wala pong anumang pag-uusap patungkol po sa mga sinasabing mga dissatisfaction na binabanggit po sa social media… iyan lamang po ay puro ispikulasyon,” Castro said.
Frasco has drawn criticism over tourism initiatives perceived as overly branding-focused and for alleged self-promotion, while Herbosa has been scrutinized online over corruption-related allegations and perceived gaps in the health system.
Despite the criticisms, Castro emphasized that the President remains confident in both Cabinet members.
“Ang dalawa pong gabinete ay nag-i-enjoy pa rin po sila ng pagtitiwala ng Pangulo,” she said.
