Senators Bong Go and Robin Padilla on Monday confirmed they will remain in the Senate minority bloc, quelling speculation that some lawmakers might shift to the majority.
“Solid Duterte bloc kami! Kahit tatlo na lang kami maiwan,” Go said in a Facebook post, referring to himself, Padilla, and Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa.
“Magtrabaho at magserbisyo na lang ang unahin natin kaysa pulitika.”
The post included a video of the senators holding up a paper reading, “Duterte bloc kami. Kayo na lang sumama!” alongside former President Rodrigo Duterte’s signature fist bump gesture.
Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III noted previous rumors about Go, Padilla, and Senator Imee Marcos potentially joining the majority, but said no official moves had been made.
Marcos recently relinquished the chairmanship of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to Senator Erwin Tulfo.
