TULFO, POE LEAD EARLY 2028 SENATE PREFERENCES — TANGERE

Senator Raffy Tulfo and former Senator Grace Poe have emerged as early frontrunners in voter preference for the 2028 senatorial elections, based on the latest Tangere survey.

Raffy Tulfo topped the poll with 49.8%, while Grace Poe followed at 43.5%.

Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano and Senator Loren Legarda were tied at 38.0%, placing them just behind the two leaders.

The survey was conducted shortly after Robin Padilla announced he would not run for a Senate seat in 2028.

Tangere noted that a portion of Padilla’s supporters appeared to have shifted to members of the Duterte family, with Paolo Duterte registering 37.1% and Baste Duterte posting 36.6%, both falling within the 3rd to 7th ranking cluster.

The poll also indicated increasing support for younger and emerging leaders, particularly among millennial and Gen Z voters.

Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian placed seventh with 34.4%, while Joy Belmonte ranked within the 8th to 14th bracket at 29.3%. Akbayan Party-list Representative Chel Diokno garnered 27.4%.

Other higher-ranking personalities included former Senator Manny Pacquiao, Senator Chiz Escudero, broadcast journalist Ben Tulfo, and Education Secretary Sonny Angara.

Those placed between 12th and 27th included Senate Deputy Majority Leader JV Ejercito, former Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos, former Senator Francis Tolentino, and Mamamayang Liberal Party-list Representative Leila de Lima.

The survey was conducted from February 2 to 6, 2026, among 2,000 respondents and carries a margin of error of ±2.15%.

Analysts cautioned that voter preferences may still change, noting that the 2028 national elections are still more than two years away.
