BONG GO DENIES ICC ALLEGATIONS IN DUTERTE DRUG WAR

Senator Bong Go on Saturday, February 14, rejected allegations in the ICC’s Document Containing the Charges (DCC) that implicated him as a co-perpetrator in former President Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs.

Go described the accusations as “entirely unfounded, one‑sided, unfair,” stressing they misrepresent his roles as Special Assistant to the President (2016–2018) and executive assistant to the Davao City mayor (1998–2016).

He clarified that he never served as chief of the Presidential Management Staff, contrary to claims in the ICC document:

“It is also inaccurate to claim that I was Chief of the Presidential Management Staff then since at no point in time did that responsibility fall under mine.”

The ICC’s prosecution document also named Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, former police officials, and other government figures as part of the alleged common plan linked to Duterte’s anti-drug campaign.

Go reaffirmed his commitment to integrity and transparency, vowing that the charges will not distract him from his legislative duties in the Senate.
