SANDIGANBAYAN ENDS PRELIMINARY CONFERENCE IN REVILLA GRAFT CASE

The Sandiganbayan 4th Division on Friday concluded its preliminary conference on the graft case involving former senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. linked to a flood control project in Pandi, Bulacan.

During the stipulation of facts, Revilla’s legal counsel did not acknowledge his membership in the Senate Committee on Finance during the period in question, from July 2024 to May 2025.

However, official records from the Senate’s permanent committees as of December 2024 confirm his membership in the finance committee.

The pre-trial for the case is scheduled for March 5.

The prosecution indicated that former Public Works District Engineer Henry Alcantara may testify at trial. In December, the Department of Justice confirmed Alcantara’s qualification as a state witness amid investigations into anomalies in the flood control project.

Alcantara had previously implicated Revilla and other members of Congress in alleged budget insertions for Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) infrastructure projects.

For documentary evidence, the prosecution plans to present contracts and proof of payment related to the project.

Of the accused, only Arjay Domasig, Emelita Juat, and Christina Pineda attended Friday’s preliminary conference.
