JOLLIBEE ACQUIRES KOREA’S SHABU ALL DAY IN $87-M DEAL

Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC), through its subsidiary Jolli-K Company, has acquired full ownership of All Day Fresh Corporation, operator of South Korea’s leading hot pot chain Shabu All Day, in a deal valued at around $87 million (₱5 billion).

Shabu All Day operates 169 all-you-can-eat outlets nationwide and generates approximately $285 million (₱16.5 billion) in annual sales, strengthening JFC’s presence in South Korea.

The acquisition enhances JFC’s Korean portfolio alongside Compose Coffee and supports its Chinese Cuisine Segment and franchising strategy. It also follows the recent master franchise agreement of Fresh N’ Famous Foods Inc. to introduce Compose Coffee to the Philippine market.

Industry projections estimate the global hot pot market could reach $90 billion (₱5.2 trillion) by 2029, positioning the move as a strategic expansion into one of Asia’s fastest-growing dining segments.

Elevation Equity Partners Korea Limited, JFC’s strategic partner, underscored the brand’s growth prospects.

“Shabu All Day represents a compelling opportunity… and we believe JFC’s global scale and brand-building excellence… will unlock significant long-term value,” said Gordon Cho, managing partner.

JFC Chairman Tony Tan Caktiong emphasized the company’s disciplined investment strategy.

“These investments reflect JFC’s disciplined approach to capital allocation, prioritizing opportunities that are both financially accretive and operationally scalable,” he said.

JFC said it plans to accelerate Shabu All Day’s expansion as it strengthens its position in the global foodservice industry.
