EARLY 2028 VP POLL SHOWS TIGHT RACE

Although the 2028 national elections are still years away, early polling suggests a competitive vice presidential contest is already taking shape.

A Tangere survey conducted from February 19–20 through mobile interviews showed Senator Bong Go leading with 27% voter preference.

Go, a close ally of former President Rodrigo Duterte, is being floated as a potential running mate of Vice President Sara Duterte, who has announced her intention to seek the presidency.

Senator Bam Aquino placed second with 21%, despite earlier saying he has no plans to run.

Political observers note he could align with former Vice President and now Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo should she decide to enter the presidential race.

Trailing behind were Senators Raffy Tulfo at 15% and Robin Padilla at 10%.

The early survey results point to a fluid and potentially dynamic vice presidential race, with alliances and candidacies likely to evolve as the 2028 elections approach.
