MAYWEATHER-PACQUIAO REMATCH SET FOR SEPTEMBER

Boxing icons Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao will meet again in a long-awaited rematch on September 19 at the Sphere in Las Vegas, Netflix confirmed Monday.

The bout reignites their storied rivalry nearly a decade after the 2015 “Fight of the Century.”

Pacquiao, 47, expressed excitement over the announcement.

“Floyd and I gave the world what remains the biggest fight in boxing history. The fans have waited long enough—they deserve this rematch,” he said in a joint statement.

Mayweather, 48, retired in 2017 with a perfect 50-0 record but recently confirmed his return to the ring.

Their first clash drew 4.6 million pay-per-view buys and generated more than $600 million, though critics said the fight fell short of expectations.

Netflix’s move underscores its growing push into live sports, positioning the rematch as a marquee one-off event.

Pacquiao, who retired in 2021 to pursue politics and ran unsuccessfully for president in 2022, returned last year with a draw against Mario Barrios.

Mayweather has stayed active with exhibition bouts, including a scheduled fight against Mike Tyson this spring.
