Malacañang on Wednesday dismissed Vice President Sara Duterte’s criticism of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administration as a “disorganized government,” attributing the issues she cited to Duterte’s tenure as Department of Education (DepEd) secretary.
“Let us look who’s talking. Mukhang tumama naman po siya… Ngunit sa bandang huli, aamin pala ang Bise Presidente na siya ay walang kalam-alam sa pagiging DepEd secretary,” Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said during a media briefing.
Castro noted that irregularities highlighted by Duterte—such as ghost students, phantom vouchers, missing laptops, and unaccounted food packs—originated during her leadership at DepEd and are now being addressed by Secretary Sonny Angara.
“Lahat ng multong ito ito ng Bise Presidente noong siya ay DepEd secretary huwag niyang ipahid kay Pangulo,” Castro added.
On potential impeachment proceedings against Duterte, Castro stressed that Malacañang would respect due process:
“Dapat proseso, due process at kung ano ang inilalahad ng ebidensiya.”
