The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Friday, February 27, said generally fair weather will prevail across most parts of the country in the coming week, though isolated rain showers and localized thunderstorms are expected.
In its weekly outlook covering February 27 to March 6, PAGASA reported that Metro Manila and other areas will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers on Friday, influenced by easterlies—warm winds blowing from the Pacific Ocean.
From Saturday to Sunday, February 28 to March 1, the northeast monsoon or amihan will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Batanes.
Metro Manila and other regions will remain under partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with occasional showers or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies.
Similar conditions are expected from Monday to Tuesday, March 2 to 3, as easterlies continue to dominate, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
By Wednesday to Friday, March 4 to 6, the amihan will again influence Batanes and the Babuyan Islands, producing isolated light rains, while Metro Manila and the rest of the country will continue to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated showers due to the easterlies.
PAGASA advised the public to stay alert for possible thunderstorms, which may bring brief heavy rains, lightning, and gusty winds, particularly in the afternoon or evening.
