The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced Friday that additional personnel, K-9 units, and enhanced surveillance systems will be deployed at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) to handle the expected influx of travelers during Holy Week.
Officials from the MMDA and the Department of Transportation–Office of Transportation Security (OTS) inspected the terminal as part of preparations.
OTS Administrator Undersecretary Gilbert Cruz said additional security personnel will be assigned to six areas within the terminal.
The agency will also deploy K-9 units and strengthen monitoring through closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, X-ray machines, and scanners.
MMDA General Manager Nicolas Torre III noted that authorities are still reviewing “rooms for improvement” to further enhance the commuter experience at PITX.
