The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Monday, March 2, released a list of Crisis Alert Levels for countries in the Middle East following heightened tensions in the region.
The agency said it continues to coordinate with Philippine Foreign Service Posts and assured the public that the situation is being closely monitored.
Crisis Alert Levels:
- Iran – Alert Level 2
- Iraq – Alert Level 3
- Kurdistan – Alert Level 2
- Israel – Alert Level 2
- Jordan – Alert Level 1
- Lebanon – Alert Level 3
- Gaza – Alert Level 4
- West Bank – Alert Level 2
- Syria – Alert Level 4
- Yemen – Alert Level 4
Meaning of Alert Levels:
- Alert Level 1 (Precautionary Phase): Signs of internal unrest or limited external threat. Filipinos advised to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel.
- Alert Level 2 (Restriction Phase): Widespread violence or threat of external attack. Filipinos urged to stay in safe areas and avoid high-risk zones.
- Alert Level 3 (Voluntary Repatriation Phase): Escalating conflict or imminent external threat. Filipinos advised to voluntarily repatriate; travel strongly discouraged.
- Alert Level 4 (Mandatory Evacuation Phase): Full-blown conflict or external attack. Mandatory evacuation enforced; travel to affected countries strictly prohibited.
The DFA encouraged Filipinos in the region to follow host government advisories, remain vigilant, and stay updated on official travel warnings.
