TV5 BRINGS TOP K-DRAMAS TO AFTERNOON BLOCK

TV5 is set to elevate its afternoon programming with the introduction of a special block dedicated to South Korean dramas, beginning March 9.

The network’s Hapon Champion lineup will feature three globally recognized series airing consecutively every weekday, designed to captivate both long-time K-drama enthusiasts and new audiences.

Leading the block is Sky Castle, the satirical JTBC drama that aired from November 2018 to February 2019. The series explores the relentless competition among wealthy families striving to secure academic success for their children, exposing the emotional and moral costs of such ambition.

Following it is The World of the Married, JTBC’s record-breaking drama that became the highest-rated cable series in Korean television history. The show drew massive attention for its raw depiction of betrayal, vengeance, and the unraveling of a doctor’s life after discovering her husband’s infidelity.

Completing the trio is Reborn Rich, a fantasy-revenge drama that tells the story of a loyal executive betrayed and killed, only to awaken in the body of his employer’s youngest grandson. Armed with knowledge of the future, he plots his revenge against the powerful conglomerate. The series became one of JTBC’s most successful productions, ranking just behind The World of the Married in cable ratings history.

With this lineup, TV5 aims to strengthen its Hapon Champion block and tap into the enduring popularity of Korean dramas among Filipino viewers.

The programming reflects the network’s commitment to delivering compelling international content marked by gripping narratives, emotional depth, and standout performances.
