The Sandiganbayan Third Division has scheduled a 10-day bail hearing for former Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and officials of the Bulacan 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) over an alleged ghost flood control project in Pandi, Bulacan.
Associate Justice Karl Miranda announced that hearings will be held in morning and afternoon sessions on April 6, 7, 8, 10, 17, 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24.
Miranda clarified that the proceedings will not determine the guilt of the accused but will focus on whether the prosecution’s evidence is strong enough to justify denying bail. The outcome will guide the court in granting or rejecting the bail petitions.
Revilla, along with DPWH Bulacan 1st DEO officials Brice Hernandez, Emelita Juat, Arjay Domasig, Juanito Mendoza, and Christina Pineda, has filed bail petitions. Engineer Jaypee Mendoza did not submit a petition.
The Third Division said it aims to resolve the bail applications within 30 days from the start of the hearings.
Revilla and his co-accused face charges of malversation in connection with the allegedly anomalous flood control project in Pandi.
