President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has expressed solidarity with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as armed hostilities continue to escalate in parts of the Middle East.
In a phone conversation on Friday, Marcos spoke with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to convey the Philippines’ support and reaffirm confidence in the Gulf nation’s ability to ensure the safety of its residents, including nearly one million Filipinos living and working there.
Marcos acknowledged the UAE’s resilience in times of crisis and voiced trust in its capacity to protect both citizens and expatriate communities.
“The UAE has shown resilience in times of challenge, and I trust in its capacity to protect its people and the communities who call it home,” Marcos said.
The Philippine leader also expressed hope that tensions in the region would soon de-escalate, paving the way for renewed stability and lasting peace.
