Fantasy and isekai fans have a new series to anticipate as So What’s Wrong With Getting Reborn as a Goblin? is officially scheduled to premiere on television in October 2026.
The anime is based on the manga written by Nazuna Miki and illustrated by Tsukasa Araki, which first launched in 2020 on Tonari no Young Jump, a digital manga service operated by Shueisha.
A reincarnation story from the weakest race
The story follows Akira Yagami, a salaryman who dies after saving a child and is reincarnated in another world as a goblin, widely considered the weakest monster race.
Unlike typical goblins that survive for only about seven days, Akira acquires a unique ability that grants him a lifespan comparable to that of a human. The skill allows him to continue growing stronger as he inherits abilities from defeated goblins. What begins as a struggle for survival gradually evolves into a story of leadership, adaptation, and rising power in a dangerous fantasy world.
Production staff and voice cast
The anime adaptation is produced by Studio Bakkka and directed by Ryuta Kawahara. Series composition is handled by Yuichiro Momose, while music is composed by Takenoko Boy.
The voice cast includes Kikunosuke Toya as Akira, Yoko Hikasa as Karen, and Azusa Tachibana as Chloe.
A teaser visual has also been released, giving audiences an early glimpse of the anime’s character designs and overall visual direction.
From manga serialization to anime
Since its debut on Tonari no Young Jump in 2020, the manga has been compiled into several collected volumes. The series blends elements of isekai storytelling with monster evolution themes as the protagonist rises from the weakest creature to a powerful figure within the fantasy world.
The upcoming anime adaptation further expands the growing lineup of fantasy and reincarnation themed titles expected to premiere in 2026.
