Malacañang assured the public that it is closely monitoring the impact of rising oil prices on commuters, emphasizing that the ongoing global energy crisis is affecting all sectors of society.
Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro explained that the surge in fuel costs is not only burdening transportation but also driving up the prices of basic goods and services, further straining Filipino households.
According to Castro, the situation underscores the need for collective action.
“Lahat tayo ay matatalo hangga’t hindi natatapos ang sigalot sa Middle East kaya magtulungan po tayo, whole-of nation, whole-of government approach ang kailangan natin,” she said.
She urged the public to practice energy conservation and reduce consumption, stressing that cooperation between government and citizens remains crucial in mitigating the challenges posed by the global energy situation.
