VP SARA VOWS OVP SUPPORT FOR OFWs AMID MIDEAST CONFLICT

Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday assured that the Office of the Vice President (OVP) is prepared to assist Filipinos affected by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and the rising prices of fuel and essential goods.

Speaking at an event in Digos City, Duterte expressed sympathy for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) grappling with the impact of regional tensions.

“Kung ano man iyong matulong ng Office of the Vice President, ay gagawin namin. Ipaalam lang sa amin kung paano kami makakatulong,” she said.

“Nakikiisa tayo sa pinagdadaanan ng karamihan nating mga kababayan na Overseas Filipino Workers dahil sa kaguluhan — dahil sa giyera doon sa Middle East,” she added.

Duterte also acknowledged the economic challenges facing the country but remained optimistic about recovery.

“It will be a difficult road back to prosperity, pero it is not impossible,” she said.

The Vice President was in Digos City for the unveiling of a statue honoring a former barangay captain, where she also met with local officials and residents.
