CHAVIT SINGSON SEEKS TO TESTIFY IN SENATE FLOOD CONTROL PROBE

Former Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson has formally requested to testify in the Senate hearing on alleged anomalies involving flood control projects.

In a letter dated March 16 addressed to Senate President Vicente Sotto III, Singson expressed his willingness to appear before the panel and submit an affidavit containing information relevant to the ongoing investigation.

Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo Lacson earlier confirmed receiving a separate communication from Singson, conveying his intent to testify before the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee.

“Sabi ko, yes… if you’re testifying on the flood control projects, then we will schedule a hearing,” Lacson said in an interview Tuesday, March 17.

Lacson added that the committee has tentatively scheduled the next hearing on April 14, though it may be moved earlier depending on circumstances.

“Magbi-break kami starting Thursday or Friday. Kung agad-agad tatawag ng hearing baka nasa vacation mode pa… baka ako lang mag-isa ‘yung andiyan,” he noted.

The Senate inquiry aims to investigate alleged irregularities in flood control projects, with Singson’s testimony expected to shed light on key issues surrounding the case.
