PBBM INSPECTS PREFAB CLASSROOMS IN MARIVELES TO ADDRESS SHORTAGE

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday inspected newly installed prefabricated classrooms at Mariveles National High School–Alasasin Annex, part of the government’s drive to ease the country’s classroom shortage.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Department of Education (DepEd), uses modular technology to fast-track construction, cutting completion time compared with traditional school buildings.

With support from First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and the Next Gen Foundation, the classrooms were finished in less than two weeks.

Education Secretary Sonny Angara described the project as a practical interim solution while permanent structures are being built. The new classrooms are expected to serve 1,031 students, addressing a projected shortage of at least five classrooms due to rising enrollment.

Alongside the inspection, Marcos also led the distribution of digital learning devices and launched the “YAKAP at Kalinga Caravan,” which offered free medical consultations, laboratory services, medicines, and vision screening for students and school personnel.

The President later visited the prefabrication plant of Corner Stone Corporation (CSC) in Barangay Alasasin, accompanied by Bataan Governor Jose Enrique Garcia III and CSC President Engr. Alfredo Comendador Jr.
