LACSON WARNS OF GLOBAL CRISIS, BLAMES TRUMP’S ‘BRINKMANSHIP’

Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo Lacson on Tuesday warned that the Philippines, along with the rest of the world, is now facing a deepening crisis driven by escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Lacson pointed to the role of U.S. President Donald Trump, criticizing the U.S. leader’s recent actions as a key factor worsening the situation.

“The Philippines is in crisis along with the rest of the world because President Trump’s brinkmanship did not work. In fact, it has boomeranged,” he wrote on social media.

“He should be held to account by the whole world, including his own country, the USA,” he added.

The senator, a former chief of the Philippine National Police, said the geopolitical situation is becoming more complex, with countries and alliances reacting to the confrontation involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.

He noted that blocs such as Nordic countries, Canada, and potentially the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) are closing ranks as tensions escalate.

“Things are not looking good for the US and the world—all because of the narcissistic arrogance of one ‘leader of the free world,’” Lacson said.

Lacson’s remarks come amid growing global concern over the economic and energy repercussions of the conflict, which continue to ripple across international markets and national economies.
