The House Committee on Justice issued subpoenas on Wednesday, March 25, in connection with the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte.
Among those summoned is Atty. Michael Poa, former chief-of-staff at the Department of Education during Duterte’s tenure, who now serves on her defense team.
Also ordered to appear is Ramil Madriaga, the self-confessed “bagman” of the Vice President. A motion by Mamamayang Liberal Party-list Representative Leila de Lima was approved to release a subpoena duces tecum, requiring submission of Madriaga’s affidavit.
The committee likewise directed Atty. Gloria Camora, team leader of the Commission on Audit’s Intelligence and Confidential Funds Audit Office, to attend the hearing.
She was instructed to bring all documents related to confidential expenditures of both the Office of the Vice President and the Department of Education for 2022 and 2023.
