The House Committee on Justice has ordered the release of Vice President Sara Duterte’s Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALNs) through a subpoena directed at the Office of the Ombudsman.
During Wednesday’s hearing, the panel voted 34-1 with no abstentions to approve the motion filed by Manila 3rd District Representative Joel Chua.
His request sought certified true copies of Duterte’s SALNs covering the years 2007 to 2013, and 2016 to 2025. The lone objection came from Cagayan de Oro 2nd District Representative Rufus Rodriguez.
In addition, the committee issued subpoenas to the Securities and Exchange Commission for general information sheets and audited financial statements of firms linked to Duterte and her family, aiming to verify ownership and financial activities.
The panel also approved a motion to obtain records from the Bureau of Internal Revenue, including income tax returns and related documents of the Vice President, her husband Mans Carpio, and identified business entities.
